LA CASONA DE VALLADOLID

Two blocks away from the main square of the Magical Town of Valladolid is La Casona de Valladolid. This 18th-century estate mansion is the perfect place to be in touch with the Colonial past of this city in Yucatan.

La Casona de Valladolid está incluida en el Tour Xichén Deluxe.

Most of its original architecture has been preserved after a careful restoration process. Among its owners stand the General José Iturralde y Traconis, a former governor of the Mexican state of Yucatan; and the Alcocer-Arceo family, who used to have high society events in here.

Approach the delicious gastronomy of Yucatan with more than 70 different dishes prepared with farm-to-table ingredients. Try the panuchos prepared with corn tortillas stuffed with refried beans and served with shredded chicken and tomato sauce. Save some space for the renowned cochinita pibil cooked as tradition dictates. After lunch, visit “El Corazón de Zoila Rosa” shop, that offers a selection of beautiful handcrafted Mexican pieces.

A visit to La Casona de Valladolid is part of the Xichén Deluxe Tour.
